In honor of our classmates who graduated to the next level before us:
At the time of the 50th Reunion of Muskogee Central High School Roughers Class of 1967; a donation is being made to the Butterfly Papilion at Honor Heights Park in the memory of these classmates.
Met Ron in jr high. He took a car load of us home from ninth grade "banquet" since he had his drivers license already, fun memory. One of the most easy going, yet competitive people I have known. I still remember how sad it was to hear of his accident. Wish he could be with us this weekend.

we rode our scooters together. his cushman and my alstate 125, great kid he was
Chuck was a friend who had some problems, all of us do. Raised by fine parents, he had the invaluable ability to forgive. He had many godly attributes. The best part is that he gave his whole life to the Lord. I hope to see him again.
I moved away during my senior year. Gary and I was close friends. Living in kansas I have missed alot of things. I was shocked to see that Gary was no longer with us. Gary and I go way back in school. He was one of my best friend.
Mike and I were great friends. We loved to work on our cars, my VW and his Desoto Hemi with a fluid clutch. The first time we changed oil on his car in my driveay we didn't get the filter seal in right and pumped about a gallon of oil on the driveway. That took a lot of cleaning. Dad just laughed.
I had two friends named Mike. My dad called Mike Haggard, strawberry. So when I started to talk about Mike he would say "Cherry or Strawberry". I miss you man!

Mike and I had a mutual love of cars. While he was in England, he took pictures of a car race and brought movies back for me to see upon his return. He played a joke on me once, I knew that he was in the Air Force and he dropped by for a visit, with a wig on that made him look like a hippy! Boy was I surprised. We all had a great laugh over that one.
I had occasion to visit my parents grave site and place fresh flowers there. I noticed Sharon's final resting place and the vase was empty so I placed a few flowers there as well. We probably spoke very little during our years at school but like the other tributes, I found Sharon to be everything that was said by her classmates. So, in final tribute, it was an honor to know her.

Sharon was one of my best friends. She was the kindest, most accepting person you could meet. I had the pleasure of spending the day with her when I was back for our 20th reunion and it was like we had never been apart. â

Very classy young lady in school. Friendly to everyone, great smile. Sounds like she made a wonderful best friend to John.
From John Wetz on April 26th, 2017
Sharon was my life. She was the best mom, wife and friend to all. I miss her every day and wish she could join our 50th. She absolutely loved seeing classmates and visiting our hometown. She taught me so much about being a better person and to eliminate hate and enjoy more Love.

The nicest person I'd ever met. I thought she was a movie star when I first met her. She reminded me of Sandra Dee. So pretty. She never made a difference between me and the popular girls. She gave me a true friendship that made an impact on my life. We never talked about anybody except cute boys and clothes. We ran all around Rotary park playing til near dark. She was smart, pretty, gracious and my friend.
Carolyn and I was friends, you my say she was my first girlfriend. We were to young to go on dates, we hung out at school. I moved our senior year to Kansas.
Lost contact with everybody, I'm so sorry to find out about her. Her and I were good friends. Sorry see left us so soon.
I owed alot to Jo Ellen. Most of you won't remember that My family and I had a terrible car wreck on the way to church, Mothers Day morning May 14, just bsfore graduation. I/we had not finished class work yet and my English teacher, Mrs. Hacker would not pass me, to graduate, till I did my memory work. I could barely see from one eye and could not read. I was not one of her favorites, but Jo Ellen was so Jo Ellen was able to read to me, in the hospital then hear my recitation. Mrs Hacker accepted that and passedd me so I could graduate with everyone. Jo Ellen and I been dating our senior year and I wasn't much fun for the prom and other senoir stuff. She never complained and stuck by me. I loved for that and am sad to not be able to tell her so again.
Mike was one of my best freinds in high school. We shared a love of swimming and both drove VW beetles. We did everything together. He was murdered, shot to death in July of '91 less than two weeks before my father died in August and a month before my neice died of meningitis as she began college her freshman year. That was a hard, hard month. I miss them all, frequently and deeply.
My dad called him strawberry because I was also freinds with Mike Cherry. When I would talk about Mike, dad would always say "Cherry or Strawberry". Thanks for all the great memories Mike.
John was a true friend, and my running buddy in college. We shared many pool games and pitchers at Scholars Inn. Still can hear that laugh (more like a giggle) when he was amused by something. I miss the laugh, smile and friendship, but have great memories.

we were on the high school wrestling team together i admierd him as a great athlete..proud to have been his friend.
I met Greg in the 7th grade. We bowled together on Saturday mornings. He showed me how to change my back swing and follow-through and my scores really took off. We also played flag football for Mrs. Neville's class in the mornings before school.
Freddie was one of my best friends in HS and until his death. He shared the same birthday as my mom. He was taken way too soon. His friendly personality made it easy to like him. God Bless you my friend, you have been missed!
From Stanley Hiner on April 26th, 2017

I could not have described Jeanie better, Jay Miller. She was one of my best friends and you never had a bad day with her. The world lost a wonderful human beingâ
From Deb Mallon on April 29th, 2017
I believe Jay described Jeane the best and that's why we loved her so much.
You never had a bad time with Jeanie. It is a huge loss to the world.

My first girlfriend and the love of my life. Eccentric, weird, funny, fun and completely different from anyone I ever met. She absolutely adored me and I didn't appreciate or deserve that kind of love. Still miss her and always will.
I watched Elaine skate around in her little skirts and bling. She was so tiny and could out skate all of us. I was so surprised to see her again in high school. We talked a lot about those nights at the skating rink and Ronnie Rappaport!
I remember when Johnny was having severe health problems in 12th grade, and he still tried to be at school whenever he could. Ray Grandstaff said we should all try as hard as Johnny did to use whatever talents we had. He was right. Johnny had great courage. Great classmate!
rithie would go to all of our golf tournaments even though he didnt play he was one of the boys....we started our friendship in the first grade until his death. we all miss him..

You were my very best friend oh so very long ago! When you died it seemed like a horrible nightmare! I remember who I was talking to on the phone when I heard the bad news on the radio. Mom & I rushed to your house where I had spent so many hours. I rushed to your room but you weren't there. Even tho your mom kept that room exactly as you left it, you never returned. We would never spend time here again & do silly things 15 year old girls do. Our secrets & fun times would never be again. I love you, my friend. I remember how your mom would let you drive to church before you got your license. I was always glad she did because you weren't ever gonna be able to get it.
I love you my friend! Charlotte
Paula and I were good friends going to school together. I moved away during our senior year and lost contact with each other. I am so sorry to hear about paula. Back in the 70,s Me and my son came thru muskogee went to her folks home they told me where she lived. I met her kids and we talk for while then had to leave. So sorry to hear about her passing, she was a great friend.
From bill foreman on April 18th, 2017
paula was one of the prettiest girls in school always smileing and happy...all of us were saddened when she passed so early in life.
Always a fun guy to be around. He loved his classmates. I lived near his store in Fort Gibson, after we "grew up". When I saw Rick there, or really anywhere for that matter, he always seemed so happy to see an old friend and showed it with that big ole grin and laugh. Good guy.
